“After the Hoop, Where is the Help – Part 1 and 2”

Workshop Description: This class will present the ideas, issues, and challenges of a successfully retired Pastor, looking at nearly 5 decades of serving the church. The many topics we will consider are the divine assignment of ministry, the private and public life of clergy (particularly the Pastor), the discipline of the office, the joy of Christian service, the agony of ecclesial defeat, interactions with clerical colleagues, mean members, difficult leaders, the importance of sabbaticals, the church vs. the Kingdom, financial stewardship, unmet expectations, congregational standards and family dysfunction.
